The annual shopping frenzy representing profit for corporate America and loss for consumer nation is over. The joyful smiles of children at Santa’s visit were followed by the frowning faces of parents on his departure when the bills arrived. But that happens every year. Was this season different from all others, to paraphrase one of the fables that keep our often dysfunctional human family divided among supporters of identitarianism, drugs, religion, therapy or, just maybe, social revolution? Haven’t we been told that the recession is over, repeatedly, for several years now?

The cycle of commodity consumption to satisfy desperate desires and compulsive cravings induced by advertising has been with us for generations and always reaches fever pitch at the joyous season of peace and profit. But stylish fashions of the market are being accompanied by more fascistic styles in politics and a global population’s attention is being drawn to what visionaries warned against at the system’s origins.

In the 19^th century, early in capital’s industrial age, many cautioned that treating the earth and its people simply as profit producing modules could endanger both the race and the planet responsible for its survival. Lately, we’ve seen evidence of that becoming so clear that it isn’t necessary for a visionary minority to come forward since a growing majority is getting angry at being treated like products instead of humans while taking note of the danger to the race in that same treatment being applied to earth, air, water and other natural resources which have been suffering unnatural use for seeming millennia.

As a geo-political crisis of the western capitalist world grows more menacing and threats of war are being made on even more nations than usual, and the assault on nature under the strain of what is called the climate change crisis becomes more obvious to all but paid servants of capital and abject morons, what’s a private profit system’s rich minority to do in order that their wealth remain under their control and the natives, peasants and other workers of the majority don’t get ideas about a need for radical change? Simple:

Make the monthly announcement of another end to the recession, and show all the increasing dollar flow to prove it, without revealing that the source of the flow comes from the American majority’s faucets filling minority reservoirs to overflowing while that majority remains in a parched economic drought. And that’s not all.

Corporate media tells daily stories of Russian problems and Putin’s menace while goading Russia and Putin into taking defensive measures due to military encirclement by the west that grows worse with each report of danger coming from the east. As Russia re-arms, faced with a real threat from American Euro-puppet NATO nations edging closer to its border, the propaganda paparazzi here keeps warning about alleged Russian hostility that revives the madness of the old cold war and brings it closer to a new hot war that could be worse than anything imagined by the idiots doing the provoking.

The crippled empire is in such bad shape that it has finally, desperately acknowledged the murderously idiotic nature of Cuba policy and acceded to demands to sell lots of stuff to that nation since we need more consumers, fast. But this mincing step towards sanity is only taken with rhetorical blather from capital’s senior clerk at the half-white house about rescuing the Cuban people from their dreadful state of eating regularly, being well educated and maintaining one of the world’s foremost health care systems. Awful. They need to become over consumers of physical and mental waste like true citizens of democracy and have the freedom of speech such as Americans enjoy and unfortunate Cubans have never known. If Eric Garner of New York had been murdered in Cuba, so the opponents of the government claim, he would not have had the freedom to say, “ I can’t breathe”, several times as he was being strangled to death by the police. Take that, you totalitarian fiends!

We are also told our stock market is booming but not that most of us haven’t a prayer of ever owning any stock, and that our unemployment rate is not as high as it was the last time we weren’t told how many people had dropped out of the work force and weren’t even being counted. Or were working part time low paying jobs which made the gross number of jobs go up but the truly gross measurement of wages decline. Not to worry.

Our warfare welfare state rulers are trying to get us into more military conflicts which could mean more jobs, definitely mean more death, and a lower unemployment rate since the dead are definitely unemployed but not included in the count.

Capitalist mathematics can be truly wonderful, especially if you invest in weapons and war but never have to use the weapons or fight the war, like our minority investor class. Of course, terrorism tends to level the field of slaughter while it raises the profits of war, but that contradiction is being noticed along with those of climate and politics and all of them related to the economics of all seasons under markets dominated by minority private control.

This could be, should be and really has to be not only an interesting but also much better year for humanity in which more of us confront the de-humanizing system of private profit for some and massive loss for most. That is capitalism, and it is not a threat to one or another nation, ethnicity, alleged race or real class, but to all of humanity. Happy New Year.

American intelligence officials have concluded that the North Korean government was “centrally involved” in the recent attacks on Sony Pictures’s computers, a determination reached just as Sony on Wednesday canceled its release of a comedy which is based on a plot to assassinate Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader. Officials said it was not clear how the White House would decide to respond to North Korea.

That would soooo infuriate Kim Jong-un he might like, you know,um, commit suicide?

Critics of the report  that the U.S.  tortured vicious, murderous, barbaric, bloody, rapist, vivisectionist, dog and cat hating terrorists claim the report vastly overstates the actual truth.

Some never liked him that much, especially after he publicly said what too many people - quite a few of them professional class African Americans  - were saying privately about blacks, but many also think the current media feeding frenzy at his expense is worse than the accusations being made.

Celebrities can easily become creatures of super inflated ego and male celebrities can become piggish in their use and abuse of women. That goes with the territory of celebrity. When you make millions of dollars and are treated like something close to a god by millions of people you can easily become warped inside your head, and a male celebrity who collects women as easily as ordinary people collect commodities can be a disgusting ego specimen, but the creatures he collects are rarely paragons of morality and virtue, and are often just slightly lower budget versions of ego-gratification lusting, job seeking, social status climbing and possibly damaged humans.

Like people who admire and envy fame so much they make ego idiocy possible and even necessary, or wish for careers among the rich and famous so strongly they try to achieve them through performing sexual favors. Or just folks who enjoy hearing stories about the mighty who fall as long as those stories are limited to entertainers and rarely politicos.

 Bill Clinton  - remember him? Hilary’s husband? – had a reputation for being a “womanizer”, which was liberal-speak for screwing any woman who would let him, many delighted to do so for such a powerful figure. But when he got caught, the young woman who nailed him was treated like a bitch by alleged "feminists" who found Clinton's support of abortion far more important than his cheating on his wife and having sex with lots of women, while showing no concern for the morality he would later preach welfare mothers to practice. They vilified her, not him, as some sort of biblical Eve-demon who took advantage of their hero. And Clinton had alleged victims who came forward and told stories of his abuse, disrespect, and how he used them. Double standards? Here in America?

A generation ago according to some legend and some facts, another president, John Kennedy, was having the Secret Service deliver women to him for sneaky sex at the White House and none of that or his affairs with celebrities – other than his wife - ever was spoken of by the media. He, like Clinton, was a politician-ego-sex-maniac, not an entertainer-ego-sex-maniac, like Cosby.

Led by media and the sheep-like tendencies of too many Americans, this nation is regularly led into moral vigilante –lynch party idiocy in which manufactured villains are forced to confront torch-wielding mobs that make fanatics seem sensible by comparison.

Once it was alleged child molesting at day care centers, or satanic rituals conducted by the people next door, or sexual abuse in the family - at one point so many were coming forward to speak of their abuse years after the fact, some psycho-hustlers offered support groups for the millions never sexually abused by their families -What was wrong? Weren’t they attractive enough? - and too many other dreadful expressions of concern over personal matters of nasty gossip and character rape of individuals. This while the world sometimes seems to be falling apart, people suffer real horror, and some micro-minds are obsessed with why Cosby's wife didn’t kick him in the nuts and why Ray Rice’s wife stands by him instead of joining the judgmental elite who make the gross paparazzi and other bottom feeders seem like poets.

Unlike the towers of moral strength who thrive on public character assassination, some women succumb to the celebrity appeal that others dream about. And sometimes years later, once the story of the star’s sex life breaks, they come forward to reveal the horrible experience of being taken in by a celebrity who, um, promised them a role in his movie or on his show, or a gourmet meal if they'd just come to his room for a drink and maybe play doctor, grown up style?

Given the number who’ve come forward, it is more than possible that Cosby may have taken advantage of and even treated some women disgracefully, but this invasion of privacy and the way it is being used is far more disgraceful than any individual behavior and indicative of a diseased, mean, immoral and vindictive culture of political economic degeneracy. That culture spends trillions to invade countries and slaughter people all over the world, kills its own in the streets with an occupying military colonial force we call police departments, and lavishes love and money on pets -fifty billion dollars a year on animal family members - while tens of thousands of its citizens are homeless. Hopefully we will stop this crazed social behavior before it destroys us all.

But first, of course, we need to stomp out the behavior of disastrous and menacing monsters like this celebrity. Of particular note was the comment of one of the used and abused women treated in such deadly fashion by this monster, which said he "kissed her at a party when she was a teen"...

Switzerland: Ban Urged on Eating Cats and Dogs

An animal rights group has petitioned the Swiss government to ban a traditional, if rare, practice of eating cats for Christmas dinner and turning dogs into sausages. Tomi Tomek, president of the animal rights group SOS CHATS Noiraigue, said 3 percent of the population still eats cat and dog. “You can’t report it to the police because there’s no law against it,” he said.

The Swiss are urged by American pet lovers to eat unwanted children for Christmas and turn homeless people into sausages.

The current global monster, Putin, so designated by corporate USA, is a heroic figure to much of the world. Russia’s status as capitalist rebel in a formerly western dominated global mall can seem like the difference between democratic and republican parties in America:

A long-term choice of cancer or polio, with a guarantee of disease no matter which side wins. But in the current deadly state of private profiteering bringing more of the planet closer to ruin, the short term lesser evil of emerging capitalist powers like Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) can seem almost hopeful. At least in that short term.

Under the economic regime that demands private profits from oil, gas and war even if it threatens life support systems of air, water and earth, calls are increasing for restructuring that economic foundation that supports incredible wealth for a few at life threatening cost to the many. This is causing panic and more irrational behavior than usual among the ruling global minority.

The empire is attempting to control what has become uncontrollable and is leading to faster local breakdowns in a system facing global calamity if it is not brought under democratic control.

Putin identifies part of this in the “bullying” of small nations but the absurdity is greater than he may understand, since his country operates on the same economics that create massive human inequality and environmental rape. On the brighter side, he and other capitalist leaders who have not yet succumbed to total madness are able to see that a single dominant imperial power is no longer possible. Some form of respectful cooperation among nations is necessary, even in an allegedly competitive economy, or no one will be able to enjoy the alleged fruits of markets under private control.

The important word is alleged, since for most of humanity the fruits do not exist at all, and tend to be rancid and even poisonous once they become available to an ever-shrinking minority in the middle.

The BRICS operate as the more enlightened capitalists of the past who created the New Deal following the Great Depression. They saved the system with government spending to do what private capital found unprofitable but would bring destruction to the system if left undone. Using tax dollars and making sure the rich did not pay too much, they created jobs and industries that were otherwise a loss for private investors but would mean greater profits for them if financed by the great body of society: it’s working class.

Those workers soon became a middle class when wasteful consumption developed into the fastest method for creating profits. The credit economy formed when none of those workers could afford to pay for the commodity crapulence that filled markets in the relatively affluent west while emptying stomachs and stealing futures from what was called the under developed world. Now that world is “developing” as market forces of capital have arrived to create another small middle class benefitting a tiny minority of millionaires and billionaires at even greater cost to the majority.

Newer capitalist powers “democratize” the empire formerly dominated by the USA into one of several nations sharing that domination.

But now the growing problem of capitalist destruction of the natural world doesn’t threaten separate national or identity groups often easily set against each other, but the entire human race. The present call to arms over climate change amplifies what critics have warned since the 19^th century:

Treating nature simply as a commodity with which to create private profit would lead to the public loss of humanity’s environment. What is to be done?

Acceding to the purveyors of master race – chosen people ideological dominance, all of humanity must obey the dictates of the “bully”, under the name of humanitarian democracy and other cosmetic language to make brutality and bigotry sound like harmonious relations. But this deranged product is losing any appeal it once had as reality cuts through the fog of advertising propaganda. As a result, the behavior of its profiteer-bullies creates further dangers:

More troops sent to make war and train foreigners in that social degeneracy; more meddling in the affairs of states and claiming the right to do so as superior racial and ethical overlords of inferior creatures; more actions by an unelected global police department where great masses suffer because some look like what the ruling minority see as terrorists and rebels while their mass of supporters see them as freedom fighters.

This will only end when more of the ruled pierce the dense fog of ruler imposed suppression through military force and thought control. Snowden and other “informers of the people” are making it more possible for humanity to rise above minority leadership to create a humanitarian system that will put an end to the perversion of mass murdering bullies calling themselves purveyors of peace and democracy. The recent elections in the USA saw more money spent by rulers than ever before and less votes cast by the people in more than a generation. Once Americans have something to vote for, the program for change will make a giant leap. That day has to come very soon, and not simply for the good of Americans. Neither the world nor we can tolerate this system much longer.

Ferguson, Police and Racism

It's unfair to blame the police for the racism of the entire society . . . . But we have to face the fact that incarceration of blacks is four to five times their portion of the general population, and CRIME IS FALLING, and has been for about forty years. As for risking their lives for protecting the community, the police love to say it, but it's not true, especially in heavily black areas. Loggers and truck drivers and coal miners die at considerably higher rates than do police officers, but you don't hear them whining about how they're risking their lives for us all the time. If the job is too dangerous for you, then look for a safer one. Bottom line is that I'd love to hear a police chief announce that he's sick and tired of getting into unnecessary conflicts with black people due to a racist society's determination to lock them in jail rather than educate and employ them. But that would be a "political" statement, and the police aren't permitted a political life. In short, they signed on for what they're getting the day they took the job.

Democrats Keep The Republicans Winning

The Democrats have reached near genius in their ability to keep a widely disliked GOP on top in the United States' fake democracy.  Consider the recent electoral rout that the Democrats deservingly suffered.  Apologists for the party claim that the "dumb" Republican voters rejected the Democrats' sterling record of (1) 65 straight months of economic growth (2) 56 months of private sector growth (3) Unemployment falling from 10.1% to 5.9% (4) The budget deficit reduced by two-thirds (5) Fewer American's "in harm's way" in war zones  (6) Zero attacks by Al Qaeda inside the U.S. (7) Record stock market growth.

Of course, this is a very self-serving and highly skewed portrayal of political reality.  The "economic growth" is the weakest economic recovery in all of the post-WWII era, if indeed the anemic Obama performance can even be called recovery.  In any case, economic growth tells you nothing about the DISTRIBUTION of wealth, a point that liberals regularly bring up when Republicans tout the growth record of "free enterprise," but just as regularly forget when it shows Democrats in a bad light.  For the record, grotesque maldistribution of wealth in the Obama era is at or near an all-time record.  As for private sector job growth it's mostly a mirage, with lots of low-wage contingent jobs without benefits that can and are quickly eliminated at employers' convenience.  The same goes for the unemployment rate:  people who have given up looking for jobs that don't exist are no longer counted as unemployed, though they remain jobless.  So the "falling" unemployment rate disguises increasingly hopeless economic misery.  The budget deficit reduction is precisely due to austerity policies that liberals supposedly oppose, but actually support, like extending the Bush era tax cuts for the rich and failing to effectively protest the cuts in social programs that inevitably followed.   This is progress?  Fewer American's in harm's way in war zones?  Re-positioning of U.S. troops while the U.S. continues to maintain a global military presence and starts wars right and left, not in war zones, but inside other nations where large numbers of civilians are inevitably tortured and killed is nothing to boast of.  Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama has attacked seven, or is it eight, sovereign nations since coming to office.  Henry Kissinger must be seething with envy.  Zero attacks by Al Qaeda inside the U.S.?  This is largely luck, as there can't be any question that U.S. policy in the Obama era continues to fuel bitter hatred of the U.S., portending further horrors inside the U.S. as well as elsewhere.  Record stock market growth?  Don't we have to mention the trillions of dollars of liquidity injections from the U.S. taxpayer that are fueling this "growth?"  Six years after a near-fatal heart attack the patient is still on the operating table receiving constant blood transfusions, and somehow this equates with robust recovery.  Sure.

Keep it up Democrats, and you'll soon be extinct.

­Summers uses jargon familiar to those who make financial policy, teach at Harvard, and are in process of destroying more of the earth and its people for short-term private profits that guarantee long-term public loss.

Did you know that the signs of systemic breakdown we are experiencing were due to “secular stagnation”? You would have if you majored in the theological economics that are the foundational beliefs sustaining our global place of worship: the Vatican at Wall Street. Heretics understand it as a Ponzi Scheme but that ethnic and criminal sounding title is too close to the truth to be allowed in popular terminology.

Once we understand “secular stagnation” and other philosophic claptrap we can fully accept all gibberish explaining what is, at an ever-quickening pace, murdering greater numbers of people, degrading greater parts of the environment, spreading inequality at a faster pace and causing those who rule to sink into terminal mental disability while increasing physical, mental and moral breakdowns among those they dominate.

The day after our secular god, “the market”, had its biggest stock price increase of the year, it had its biggest stock price decrease of the year. Huh? People who act that way might be diagnosed as bipolar and given drugs, if they were affluent members of the professional class. If only workers or poor people they would more likely be called deranged and imprisoned. But we have no class system in America. Santa and the Easter Bunny bring us secular stagnation, equally.

A booming market, when stock prices increase and the minority owners gain more wealth, is supposed to cause joy for everyone as that wealth trickles down to the great mass of the people. And when the market busts, as it always does after it booms, the loss also trickles down to that same great mass, who are told we are experiencing a “market correction” and not to worry. There will soon be another boom and there will be more crumbs falling off the tables of the wealthy minority and into the grateful hands, mouths and other body parts of the great majority who patiently wait. Sure.

There are signs that the majority is becoming more impatient and critical which makes the rulers more nervous and they begin saying things like the financial genius quoted at the top. Don’t worry, be happy. It’s just “secular stagnation”, a term beyond your understanding. But those losing their jobs, savings, homes and minds are beginning to understand that there is a system at fault and not, as they’ve been led to believe, their personal shortcomings. This makes the rulers and their servants more likely to kill even more people than usual while they are rationalizing collective madness as “secular stagnation” and “market corrections” and other assaults on language and logic.

Further signs of structural collapse both physical and mental can be seen in the seeming outbreak of abuse upon women, athletes, reporters, whistle blowers, and more innocent people unlucky enough to have their phones tapped by government or their lives intruded on by gossip pimps.

Highly paid athletes whose work involves physically abusing other highly paid athletes seem to be indulging in abuse of their mates, girlfriends and wives at epidemic rates. Who could have anticipated that rewarding violence might create more violence? Meanwhile more nerdy college students are said to be conducting a collective sexual assault on campus women. Even allowing for overstatement, distortion and the usual twisting of fact into fiction that makes money for corporate media, something terrible is going on here. If the NSA is frightening what should we think about the invasion of privacy being conducted by non-governmental sources which make viral the innermost conduct and behavior of people being filmed, recorded, taped and photographed by devices either wielded by their mates or the paparazzi or public eavesdroppers supposedly fighting crime but often helping in its creation. Or maybe this is just “free speech”?

 

An allegedly liberal administration is assaulting those trying to report on government overstepping its bounds and has gone so far beyond the Bush gang of conservatives that so called progressives are looking more like fascists. Freedom of the press?

So we have the current CEO of American capital threatening to “degrade and destroy” the latest alleged menace to americans as we watch that menace win more victories and control more territory despite our multi trillion dollar military power killing, destroying and degrading all the wrong things, people and places. Hatred grows for all of us, the threat of terror – originally the rationale for slaughtering tens of thousands all over the middle east – increases almost exponentially, and the CEO is thought to be a savior of freedom by a minority of those waiting for the crumbs to fall from the tables of wealth, while another minority, even more distant from reality, thinks the CEO of capital is a socialist or communist who means to take what little they have and give it to someone else.

Neither minority understands that it’s all due to “secular stagnation”. They are poorly informed and often tragically misinformed, but they are not stupid. That makes the rulers even more nervous.

While some claim that something called black power is destroying something called the white race, young black men are regularly shot and killed by the police and vigilantes for suspicion of being young black men. The first group is genuinely powerless and alienated enough to believe almost anything it is told while the second is far more alienated and powerless while subject to the same rule of “secular stagnation” that makes both extremes sadly equal in one important area: being powerless against their social, political and economic rulers.

They, and we, will remain so as long as we swallow the foreign policy propaganda that has us up in arms and fear over apparitions and created monsters, and especially the economic fanaticism that rationalizes everything by calling capitalism’s collapsing reality a simple matter of “secular stagnation”.

Professor Sentenced To Death For Using “N” Word In Class

World famous professor Heinrich Mc Schultz, renowned for his theories on existential marketing and the philosophy of profit, was sentenced to death after an emotional plea by his former students. The professor had regularly referred to many of them by use of the “n” word, calling them nihilists, and when he used the ugly term towards one particular student, a survivor of the genocidal holocaust suffered by supporters of affirmative action, the tea party and pro football, it was too much.

“At first, I didn’t know what he was talking about. When he called me a “dirty nihilist” I thought he was referring to my knees. When I realized he was using the forbidden “n” word to indicate my character, lineage and belief system, I was shocked that this man could stoop so low. I felt a court case against him was the only way out of my existential dilemma and my further pursuit of a degree in the only way out of that existential dilemma: Marketing."

The jury of seven dogs and five cats was vehemently in favor of the death penalty and the court canine and feline translator, who has a graduate degree in veterinary linguistics, said the howling, yowling, barking and hissing made it clear that the domestic pets were in complete agreement.

None Dare Call It Gridlock: Where Republicans and Democrats Find Common Ground

It is an axiom of contemporary U.S. journalistic commentary that Washington DC is so ideologically divided into warring camps of Republicans and Democrats that there is little hope of achieving a meeting of the minds on important issues of the day.  Suffice it to say that we here at Legalienate.com find this a highly delusional belief, although obviously a useful fiction for the private owners of the capitalist economy and the Israel-forever fanatics, whose religious justifications of minority rule in general and Jewish supremacy in particular enjoy overwhelming support from all three branches of government.  There is no rationalization too ludicrous for the two "opposed" parties in their pursuit of limitless profit and Greater Israel.

Consider the following policy prescriptions.  All of them are currently in vogue, and enjoy broad bi-partisan support:

Education:  Bust the unions, close the schools, fire the teachers. Ignore incremental rise in test scores over many years, and the public's general satisfaction with the public schools, in favor of handing public funds over to profit-hungry charter schools accountable only to themselves.

Health care:  Ignore the option of extending Medicare coverage to all, essentially the way every other developed country in the world has achieved universal health insurance, in favor of forcing millions more Americans to subsidize the parasitic HMOs that currently siphon off more than $1 trillion a year in unnecessary costs via the hopelessly fraudulent "medical billing" industry.

Environment:  Disperse carcinogenic and mutagenic substances far and wide, so as to make it impossible to determine which profiteers are responsible for the resulting cancers and birth defects.

Energy:  Burn up the ocean of petroleum it took nature the whole of geologic time to create in a few generations, converting the earth to a combination gas chamber/cremation oven.

Economy:  Continue funneling hundreds of billions of dollars a year in public money to dependent corporations via the Pentagon system. Bail out reckless speculators who crashed the economy in 2008, asking nothing in return for the public funds.  Offshore the job base; give tax breaks to outsourcers; channel gains from productivity increases to the rich and super-rich; jail the poor; bury the middle class in debt.

Civil Liberties:  Jail whistleblowers; establish "total information awareness" via state controlled digital communications; abolish habeas corpus; establish torture centers and military tribunals to handle the increasing numbers of state enemies deemed undeserving of constitutional rights; award U.S. president the power to kill anyone, anywhere, anytime without resort to due process of law.

Communications:  Hand public airwaves permanently to private interests free of charge, so that they may continually bombard the public with "programming" celebrating greed, domination, and deceit.

Foreign Policy:  Rob, swindle, torture, and murder all those who passively or actively interfere with massive profit extraction on behalf of a microscopic minority of super-rich, who have no means of productively spending or investing their immense fortunes.   Award permanent unrestrained support to Jewish apartheid state in Palestine, no matter how many 911s it portends.  Continue siphoning off Middle East oil to underwrite suicidal over-consumption in the West, while tens of millions of Arabs remain mired in bitter poverty awaiting total catastrophe when the oil runs out.  Continue issuing pious declarations against "terrorism" while invading, bombing, torturing, and killing civilians throughout the Middle East.

This is but a thumbnail sketch of the terrifying policies currently enjoying bi-partisan support in Washington, with more and worse always on the way.  Given the almost total lack of critical political consciousness and popular organization for change among the citizenry, Democrat-Republican gridlock is an outcome fervently to be wished for.  Better that the two major parties endlessly wrangle over minor budgetary disagreements than that they devote themselves single-mindedly to the agenda outlined above.

Meanwhile, the rest of us had better educate and organize for broad-based, sweeping democratic change in all areas of policy, without fear of naming capitalism and Jewish-supremacy as public enemies. Until we have the courage to do that, we recklessly invite terminal disaster.

America’s anti-humanism can cause shock among hyenas, vultures and other creatures that feed on death in accordance with rather than opposition to nature. But as the empire sinks more deeply into the political economic sewage of its own creation, its weaponized psyche grows more malevolent and the behavior pattern more dangerous. The public has to be nearly lobotomized to allow its leadership to perform at such odds with reality. That is almost the case.

Present postures re the Ukraine and ISIS are so idiotic it’s almost impossible not to think a comedy writer is responsible for the foreign policy directives coming from the mental health crisis center we call our central government.

Outside the ruling circles of the USA and its NATO lapdogs most of the world knows that an elected Ukrainian government was removed by an outside organized and financed uprising and replaced by a local billionaire led regime which would better serve western interests. But consciousness controllers in the USA have portrayed a semi-fascist coupe as democratic action while blaming Russia and demonizing Putin for an invasion that never happened.

Russia’s reclaiming of Crimea, followed by a democratic expression of support by a Crimean majority was treated as a return of the Soviet Union, a revival of the Russian empire and Putin’s vision – inspired by very bad comedy writing or very good drugs – to take over Europe, Asia, Disneyland and Home Depot.

The fact that the southeastern Ukraine has a substantial population that not only identifies as Russian but welcomed returning to that nation is unknown to an american public fed news reports from dementia central, abundant celebrity gossip, and an occasional experience of verifiable material reality but only on weekends between one o’clock.

After having been dropped from Russia in an attempted peaceful gesture toward the west, many Crimeans were happy to again become part of what they see as their homeland. But much of the larger western Ukraine identifies with Europe and economics favored by the American satellites of NATO. The U.S and its euro-servants have worked on propagandizing that sector while surrounding Russia with military bases that were never supposed to be there according to post cold-war deals. But each menacing encroachment on its borders has been treated as aggressive action by Russia. Of course. And women keep raping themselves. And black men keep throwing themselves at police bullets.

Americans have to rely on the good sense of a Russian leader who is depicted as a monster by mind managers of the asylum we call a marketplace of ideas. We have to hope he maintains his mental stability while confronting not an individual nut case waving an axe but an imperial regime led by idiots collectively waving weapons of war that are far more menacing.

And another creation of the empire and its Arab flunkies, ISIS, is being treated as a menace to the USA, with consumers of corporate fables led to believe invasion is imminent if we do not stop these fanatics from converting our dogs, cats and identitarian minorities to their Islamic faith. This is not the Colbert Report or SNL but you almost have to laugh to keep from crying. While the warriors of ISIS have made short work of the demoralized armies of unpopular regimes created by the USA, they number at most twenty thousand men and have no air force, navy or mechanization beyond what they capture and confiscate from the weapons armory awarded them by american taxpayers. The average metropolitan police department here is better equipped and, unfortunately a greater threat to americans than this relatively ragtag gang of zealots, however bloody they may seem to people ignorant of the destroyed states, hundreds of thousands of dead and millions of refugees created by the USA in the middle east under the guise of spreading democracy and the homicidal immorality we practice under its name.

Two horrible beheadings have been enough for the deranged in congress and media to warn of pending invasions of the USA that must be stopped lest all of us lose our heads physically, instead of by the almost equally dangerous form our beheadings take:

When people are reduced to seeing the alleged intellectual lackey to Israel who dwells in the half-white house as a serious peaceful counter to the mad dog moronic lackeys to Israel who reside in congress, we have far more than a problem. It is approaching catastrophe.

Professions of national pride and threats to “degrade and destroy” a group that owes its formation, arms and temporary success to American meddling in the middle east are the wailings of a computer nerd trying to sound like a Mafia Don. But the Mafia at its worst was a humanitarian NGO by comparison to the atrocities committed by this crumbling empire.

Just as Israel seems close to going over the edge as its chosen people-above-reproach reputation finally comes under closer global scrutiny, the USA, as its mythological reputation encounters reality, moves closer to a form of deranged master racism that threatens the entire global community. So far the public only seems willing to accept murderous and ultimately useless bombing and not murderous and even more useless invasion. That isn’t much, but for the moment we can hope that full-scale war that could lead to a nuclear confrontation or terrorist retaliation can be avoided.

The greatest threat to America and the world emanates from the ruling minority in the USA. Our ignorance under almost total corporate thought control is understandable but we need to become educated to the need for social transformation before it is too late. The process of democratic action taken by the growing minority who wish to change the entire system of human relations needs to happen before present hypocritical rule creates a warfare capitalist pandemic from which humanity may not recover.

Norman Finkelstein and the Master Race, Chosen People Disease

Norman Finkelstein's July 30, 2014 appearance at Red Emma's bookstore in Baltimore was recently broadcast on C-SPAN.  In front of a large and highly engaged audience Finkelstein proved himself adept at discussing the legal and moral implications of Israel's ongoing slaughter in the Gaza Strip.  As usual, he was highly informative, passionately articulate, and fully committed to achieving peace in Palestine - so long as it doesn't require the abolition of a Jewish state.   

 But what if it does?

Finkelstein took several shots at BDS activists (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) and any notion of a one-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, which he denounced as supremely unrealistic.

He actually went further, suggesting it was a form of lunacy, lacking backing from even a single member state of the United Nations.  A one-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, he said, would be like proposing a resolution to U.S. immigration problems by eliminating the border with Mexico.

 How appropriate is this analogy?  Does the U.S. Constitution declare the American state to be the exclusive property of WASPs, as Israel does for Jews, thus excluding Mexicans by definition?  Are Mexicans an actual or potential majority of a combined U.S.-Mexico, as Palestinians would be in Palestine if Palestinian exiles in Lebanon, Jordan, and around the world were allowed to come home?  If Mexicans outnumbered the overwhelmingly white American middle class, and availing oneself of one's rights required one to be a white Christian, would it really be reasonable to dismiss calls for a single-state democratic solution to this as a form of lunacy?  This appears to be what Finkelstein is asking us to believe.   

    

 Finkelstein was particularly critical of BDS basing its campaign on international law, while at the same time dismissing the legitimacy of Israel, in spite of the fact that Israel is a legal member state of the United Nations.  You can't have it both ways, he said; either you favor international law in its entirety or you don't really favor it.

 Good point.  So how does a two-state solution envision the implementation of the Palestinian right of return, as called for under international law?  (Finkelstein side-stepped a question about how a two-state solution would be just to Palestinians, on the basis that the question was complicated, as it surely is, but so what?  The entire issue is complicated.) The answer is, it doesn't.  No matter how borders are drawn to accommodate a two-state diplomatic settlement, many Palestinians with legal deeds to homes in pre-1948 Palestine will be permanently dispossessed, which outcome dissident professor Noam Chomsky (whose views on this topic parallel Finkelstein's) says has to be accepted as "realistic," since Israel will never allow complete implementation of the Palestinian right of return.  Finkelstein, too, said that Israel would "never accept" a one-state solution, so it's best to not even entertain the notion.

In other words, both Finkelstein and Chomsky take the position that what Israel refuses to accept should define the limits of a Middle East "peace."  The only problem with this stance is that Israeli leaders are certifiably insane even by the dismal standards of contemporary international politics, and cannot envision "peace" apart from total Israeli domination of the entire Middle East. 

What these learned professors cannot seem to fathom is that  a Jewish state, no matter how decent, humane, and democratic to Jews, is a massive obscenity to Palestinians on whose land the state is constructed, and until this fact becomes the basis for peace negotiations, there is no possibility of Middle East peace, now or ever.

It Isn't Ferguson: It's the USA

Now that almost all mainstream political and media mind managers have responded, in horror, sympathy or skepticism, to the most recent – as this is written – police killing of an unarmed black man, it is time to consider radical action for social change as opposed to the usual reactionary individual reform.

The attention given this latest outrage has been greater than ever before, which is good no matter what form it takes. Most often it has been understandably critical of the police action, though not many will publicly shout “great” at any alleged racially motivated killing unless they are brain dead, or racists, or more likely both.

The specific facts of the case are not known to anyone but the deceased, who cannot speak, and the killer, who would only be believed or doubted by those whose minds were already made up. We know that the dead man was unarmed and that he was shot six times. We also know that he was young, big and may have been angry, but there is nothing in the biblically worshipped constitution that says you get the death penalty for being a big black man who may be angry. Or, for that matter a dumb white man in a position of authority. In fact, if being a dumb white man in a position of authority were a capital offense, our government would be the site of an ongoing blood bath of executions. Sarcasm aside, what is to be done?

Another in a dreadful series of murders of unarmed black men by police officers frequently dressed and equipped like an invading colonial army in a foreign country – what they often are - should not only invite anger but also concern for society in general and not just the community in which this killing took place.

Police officers sometimes commit violent acts based on individual racist ignorance, the last two words being synonymous. But far more often they act for the social ignorance of their employers, to do dirty work in communities many americans who vacation in foreign countries have never seen except on the TV news.

Who wants to visit ghettos where poor, often darker skinned people live, and without hotels, restaurants, museums and gift shops welcoming to tourists? And given class realities which trump alleged differences in race, how many affluent professionals who accept being designated as “people of color” live in or visit such communities? So the rest of us can think we are personally clean, we employ the police to do the socially dirty work in keeping order among people who have every right to occasionally act disorderly because of the often wretched conditions of their lives. This depraved social situation prevails regardless of the mental or moral cleanliness of any individual police officer’s mind.

While we spend trillions on a warfare state that murders foreigners while maintaining military bases all over the world, and tens of billions on the care and feeding of our pets, and billions to prop up an apartheid state in the middle east that makes us party to mass murders and leads to our being increasingly despised by people all over the world, we tolerate communities of tragic poverty, blatant economic inequality, low income and high crime which are the result of political horrors having little to do with the police officers we employ as veritable colonial armies.

Blaming the police for the bigotries of class, poverty and racism endemic to our system is as stupid as blaming the military for wars. And if you believe that soldiers are responsible for war, whether you are a person of color, no color, or more likely, no brains, be glad there is no death penalty for being stupid.

Even our ruling media corporations are unable to deny some unmistakable facts that can no longer be hidden about our economy:

Inequality is written into the market system under control of private profiteers. It must have vast oceans of poverty to maintain the mountain from which a relatively small number of incredibly wealthy people look down on the rest of us. The increased human suffering this system brings is compounded by what is being done to the natural environment which investment capital treats as just another profit making commodity. That is not simply an aspect of the police, the military, parking lot attendants, school teachers or any other group of workers but rather the necessary social outcome of the system they, and we, are part of and suffering from, until and unless we bring about systemic change that ends that endemic inequality, injustice and human suffering.

Prosecuting one cop who kills a person probably innocent of any crime other than being angry will socially accomplish what all other prosecutions of individual killers do: Nothing!

As long as we lavish hundreds of billions of dollars on producing, selling and using weapons, and compound the moral felony of profit for some at loss for most others by maintaining separations based on skin color, national origin or other divisions created to keep us a mass of minorities controlled by a tiny group of plantation masters who own what we call our democratic homeland, we can prosecute individuals for war crimes and continue killing one another until we run out of scapegoats and face the need to stop the war.

While an idiotic governing group threatens war with Russia over the Ukraine and spreads fanatic hatred in the Middle East with a bombing campaign to supposedly bring democracy and peace while creating death, destruction and refugees, the degradation of inequality, poverty and racism grows much worse at home.

 Life is getting worse in communities where almost everyone is either poor, low income or living with minimal choices if any at all by comparison to what passes for those available to a diminishing group living above poverty. Those former working class members rebranded as “middle” as they went into debt to purchase what they could not afford, have in recent years expanded to include more varied skin tones and ethnic integration, but are in decline as wealth grows only for the minority at the top. As life becomes more dangerous for those formerly believing they were affluent, it becomes more miserable for those never more than barely surviving.

With ugly race and ethnic barriers used to keep divisions among people, the class barriers which are the burden of all need to be understood and fought in order to achieve a democratic system that affords social justice, and equality to all and not just some.

Ferguson is another cancer sore in a nation facing a terminal condition if it insists on simply removing one or another blemish while allowing the organism to continue its deterioration. The personal tragedy suffered in suburban St.Louis needs to be seen and acted upon as a national disorder not limited to one community, and certainly not one aspect of the system of private profits and public loss that reduces us all to accept false identitarian divisions when we most need democratic unity. And real democracy, as opposed to the sham we have that disgraces its name, demands radical action to change the system, not just one or another of its component parts.

Goldman gives junior bankers 20% pay rise

Goldman Sachs is increasing salaries for junior bankers in the US by about 20 per cent in an increasingly frenetic war to attract and retain young graduates.

Some first-year employees will see their salaries increase to about $85,000, according to people familiar with the matter. The change does not affect bonuses, which can equal the salary. It does not affect every new recruit, and is not being rolled out internationally.

Wall Street banks, which have been trying to rein in overall remuneration costs, have come under pressure to improve salaries for their junior staff. Rivals, including Morgan Stanley, have already moved to increase base pay.

Many bankers complain that, while they may be receiving a large bonus in deferred stock, they need cash to spend on expensive Manhattan rents.

The move comes amid a broader reappraisal of pay and conditions at large banks, which are having to deal with private equity firms poaching their staff, Silicon Valley technology companies looking for talent and the death of a Bank of America intern who was working long hours.

BofA announced last month that it would hire more junior staff in an attempt to improve the work/life balance of its bankers. Several banks have attempted to limit work at weekends. Goldman has taken this approach and warned of disciplinary consequences for bankers who breach the new rules.

Last October Goldman announced the findings of a “junior banker task force” set up to improve conditions.
Its proposals included hiring more entry-level employees, called analysts, and providing additional opportunities for these analysts to spend time with their managers and clients.
“The goal is for our analysts to want to be here for a career,” said David Solomon, Goldman’s co-head of investment banking. “We want them to be challenged, but also to operate at a pace where they’re going to stay here and learn important skills that are going to stick. This is a marathon, not a sprint.”
In 2012 Goldman ended two-year contracts and bonuses for analysts at its investment banking operations. The move to give these junior bankers full-time employment contracts from the start was designed as a way to prevent them from being poached by hedge funds and private equity groups.
