Public Opinion: Down With Omnipotence

The latest says that 41% approve of Obama's performance in office, a rating that is definitely falling, but still too high for a man who has attacked six countries in two years while picking up a Nobel peace prize. Why hasn't the Nobel committee committed suicide yet?

Seventy-two percent of Democrats still think Obama is doing a good job. If the high approval Bush used to get from Republicans was evidence of their stupidity, then Democrats today are suffering from outright idiocy. Where's the outrage?

But let's keep things in perspective. Only 51% of the people approve of the performance of God, which means that the trend line is definitely down for all-powerful figures that one can do absolutely nothing about.

In other words, people are steadily surrendering illusions . . . good!
